Episode 125 – Iceland Travel

This is my second episode on Iceland.  Check out Episode 2 for more Iceland information. My guest used the local rental company Lotus Rental Cars of which he was pleased.  On the south coast, they took the ferry over to Vestmannaeyjabaer Island.  You can catch the ferry at Landeyjahogn, Iceland on the Herjolfur Ferry. Good luck saying those names.  This is where they learned about a volcano and the island’s history from Ejya Tours.  The Brothers Brewery is on this island as well.  The farmhouse that they stayed in was in the village of Hvolsvollur.  The glacier lagoon they took the boat tour through is called Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon.  They snorkeled the tectonic plate rift at the Silfra Snorkeling Pond in Thingvellir National Park.  It could be helpful to get their National Park App for your phone.  Closer to Reykjavik is the Perlan Natural History Museum with an Ice Cave inside, which is available in the winter months.  They went out on a limb on their food tour and ate the fermented shark with Your Friend in Reyjavik tour group. The nicer end restaurants that they ate at were The Rok and The Fish Market.  As an alternative to the Blue Lagoon, you can look into the less known Sky LagoonYoda’s Cave and Diamond Beach were also mentioned as places of interest.

If you have been thinking about getting one of these credit cards use my links: Capital One Venture X, Southwest Credit Card, Southwest Business, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and the Hyatt Credit Card. If you use my links to sign up for the card I get some points, and again it doesn’t cost you anything to help out the show.  Some of these credit card links do not last long.  If the link doesn’t work please contact me and I can send one to you real time.  Remember, if you are unable to pay your credit cards off on a monthly basis then it is not worth getting these.  Thanks so much!
